This NW style sour beer is a crisp, refreshing wheat beer that was barrel aged for 12 months, then additionally aged with strawberries and Bourbon vanilla beans for three months. Aromas of bright, sweet strawberries, light candy and soft vanillin are noticed up front. Notes of sweet cream, tart fruit and berry sweetness dance on the palate, then give way to light, sparkling strawberry tartness followed by soft vanilla hints with pronounced marshmallow in the finish. Note: Look for the vanilla note to climb a little as this beer ages. This will also start to taste like Franken Berries, the kids’ cereal that featured strawberry marshmallows. 7.1% | $7.5 glass | $3 taster
